The farm there grows two crops which celebrate the seasons perfectly, sunflowers for Summer and pumpkins for Autumn.
It’s a PYO enterprise, you pay an entrance fee and then are free to explore several acres of sunflowers of all shapes and sizes cutting as many as you wish, paying for them when you leave.
The views across the fields are breath taking.
As I wandered off to capture some of these beauties to share with you today the Senior Partner armed with a pair of sharp secateurs borrowed from a very nice lady at the fields entrance (we forgot to take our own) chose some wonderful specimens to take home with us.

Fields of sunflowers bring back so many memories - the ones in Provence were amazing, the ones over here often good. The row in my garden is great some years, lousy others - like this one. Not a single one survived due to deer and squirrels munching on the young shoots!
ReplyDeleteGlad you braved the heat to visit and harvest. Add another 8-10 degrees F and you know what we are going through every day here! Far too hot and 'buggy'- they are so bad this year.
Enjoying your golden photos - thanks Maggie.
I do love sunflowers - your photos are wonderful
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers are wonderful ...I haven’t heard of the PYO concept, but it’s a great one. Was there a limit to what you could pick? (One of our grandsons had an outdoor wedding and decorated the large covered shelter with sunflowers ...they could have picked a boatload! ). I like the painting effect n your last picture !
ReplyDeleteMaggie - so, so beautiful. I especially like the pictures that show the sunflowers in the field - reaching as far as the eye can see! What a wonderful business concept! Thanks for sharing this SUNSHINE with everyone at Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeletesunflowers are a nice subject for photography and this seems to be the perfect place to do it. You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteHello, I love the sunflowers, It is lovely to see a field of these bright and cheery flowers. We have a farm near us, that lets people walk and cut a flower for a dollar each. The photos are beautiful. Take care! Have a happy day and a great week!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunflowers. Happy Monday
ReplyDeleteMuch🌻love
Oh my goodness! They are gorgeous! It makes me wonder about the field I found in the Spring. Those flowers are probably all drooped down now at the end of the growing season. You took some amazing photos and have pretty flowers to enjoy too! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Could any bloom BE more appropriately named than a "sunflower"?
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers are summer... wonderful captures, they are amazing. I love to put them in a vase on the table.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this, it brings sunny spells in my sad time...
...stay healthy and well.
Happy MosaicMonday
Sunflowers are so cheerful! I was always delighted by them. Your photos are lovely, Maggie. It has been overly hot here lately and very dry. I am getting tired of summer and look forward to autumn.
