Looking and learning

It’s been quiet around here since our visitors left, a lot of time spent indoors dashing out into the garden, between rain showers, to potter around.
I’m still learning about the plants growing out there and making tentative plans for making some changes before winter.

The young man who I thought would be available to help with my ideas hasn’t had much time to spare from his other landscaping duties so I spend my time keeping things tidy and nurturing tender new plants to hopefully plant out later in the year when the heavy work has been done.

This is how my garden has been growing this week.

  2. Looks very healthy and lots of colourful plants. We finally had a good doze of rain today so things should improve here.

  3. Your garden has some very pretty flowers. What are the ones in the bottom left of your last collage? I've seen them around here, too and think they would be good for some late summer colour.

    Have a good week, Maggie.

  4. Maggie - it appears you have some wonderful "bones" to work with in your garden! Even in a "wild" garden, planning is essential and time will invested! As much as I don't want summer to end, I have secretly starting thinking about planting I will do this fall! Thanks for linking up, and happy pottering!

  5. Your garden is already looking beautiful ... quite a challenge adapting an existing one to your taste and standards.

  8. Maggie I love your garden. Flowers are so pretty but so much work. I'd much rather mow grass LOL but I do have quite the collection of indoor plants.

  9. It's nice to get to know your garden before you make changes too. Everything looks beautiful. Our roses look very pretty and hubby just spent 2 weeks putting down new mulch all around the house so things look very neat and tidy. Enjoy your week!

  12. My garden grows badly and not nearly so lovely as yours. You're smart to see what's already there first. Can't wait to see it one year from now!

  15. I like your splashes of color, Maggie. You've got me thinking a bed of white daisies would look cool in the front yard.

  16. Those flowers Lorrie asked about are Japanese anemones aren't they Maggie? My mum used to grow so many - always said they 'walked all over the garden'! Here I tried growing them years ago but didn't fare well - probably too hot and humid!
